Salvation Army Christmas Dinner

One of our ongoing projects is providing the Christmas dinner for the Salvation Army drop-in centre.
The club raises the funds to purchase the ingredients for the meal, and as a group, gets together to prepare, cook and serve the meal. For the past three Christmases we have served an average 200 meals during this event. Christmas 1998 was a record year for the number of meals served–225 meals in three hours. We ran out of everything. This year, a number of non-Kiwanians donated food for the party.
We've also built shelves for the salvation Army drop-in centre and manned the Christmas kettles.

Fundraiser the Trailer

Affectionately known as the Weenie Wagon, one of our main sources of reveue is the food trailer we built. It's as spacious as any professional kitchen and is fully equipped to handle the traffic we get on location. Some of the annual events at which you'll see the weenie Wagon include the annual dog walk, Dog Show, Salmon Festival, an event we've been involved with for many years, and other special events in the area.
